Tim told me how to modify a 7.62x39 extractor but I don’t remember the exact measurements.

I've never seen that mod need to remove a lug. That's a first!

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.

Haha anyone who has owned a x39 AR probably has one or two of those laying around. Mine comes in handy for spare parts :D

yeah seen that too.

Does that missing lug look to be machined off, or did it happen to break off?

FWIW, I have used a couple of 458 Socom bolts in the past, ran flawless.

I've actually got two bolts with that same lug broke off. The first was from my x39 AR, and the second from my Grendel, which was the tipping point for me to re-barrel to 450. I thank my lucky lugs for leading me here.

I think I remember someone (manufacturer) saying 458S and 450B bolts are different and shouldn't be interchanged, but a few companies do. I have an Underground Tactical bolt for my 20" build. It's labeled 458, and when contacted they said they are the same bolt, but they seperate them on there website. So far I haven't had an issue, but I don't have many rounds through that build yet.
