Brakes, BCC and buffer recoil for wife and kids

Postby Gutpile » Fri Dec 15, 2017 10:55 pm

Folks
Using factory ammo or close copies
Which brake for recoil reduction Ruger, Tromix or Ross? Using midlength gas system
Do we want a heavy MG BCG or a standard with Hoots weight system? Using a tubbs or wolf spring and an A2 heavy or 9mm buffer? Tromix lightweight barrel, 6 position with pad women and kids will shoot this but not a lot so I do not want to beat them if they are hunting with it.
Thoughts?

put a ross and an adjustable gas block on it. tune the GB one click past lock back. run like a h2 to keep the reciprocating mass relatively low, use a standard recoil spring.

that should rein in the 450 about as much as you're going to, short of putting on one of the recoil reducing stock assemblies.

Plant pretty much nailed it.

My wife and kids never had a problem with my factory 16" and a 3 port Ross. Never tried a Tromix but can tell you side by side the Ross is better than the Ruger.

i like SLR's, put them under a full length handguard (They're small enough) and then mount the sights on the free floating handguard rail.

Al in mi,
