I looked them up on ATI's website and it says they load 2.5" shells, so that's not going to work in a standard ar15.

You'd think that if the mag accepts 2.5 inch long shot shells, it would accept 2.26 inch long cartridges. Image

it would, but how's it going to fit in the magwell, especially being a polymer mag.

Maybe that is an AR 10 magazine?...OK, I looked around on the web and I see there are 410 shotgun uppers that use an AR 15 lower.. So I would think the 410 mag would fit our lowers. The Hornady 250 grain FTX barely fit in my Stainless magazines.

It would appear, they are for standard lowers, but I'm wondering how? I have a couple stainless mags that I have windowed (cut part of the front out to load longer), and I think I can only load out 2.4". I'll have to double check the length, but still, a shell 2.5" long AND it's a polymer mag.

one thing to consider - as a shotgun mag, they're designed to hold rimmed cartridges, and we'd be attempting to use them on a rimless design.

from what google says, the rim dia on a .410 = 0.535
450 bushmaster = 0.500 at the base, and 0.473 rim dia.

depending how much feed lip grab they have, our rounds may not even hold in that mag and just pop right out.

might be worth an experiment though for sure!

The length numbers don't look good.. Maybe the 410 shot gun shell is really shorter than 2.5"?? I got some Black Butterfly ammo yesterday afternoon and they are longer than the Hornady 250 FTX black box, the BB 275 grain ammo did fit in a ASC stainless steel 5 round mag. I have a Sig Poly mag but didn't try the BB ammo in it.

it's 2.500 once fired, I'll have to measure a crimped shell to see what they are for OAL

theres a note on the website for those mags that not all 2.5" 410 ammo is actually 2.5" and that care must be used to pick ammo that does not exceed that OAL for a loaded cartridge.

That would make sense. Shows how much I know about shotguns. Lol
