I have the APF 16" version on a Core 15 lower, got it a month ago for hunting. Core 15 is a local (to me) AR manufacture but they don't make a 450 BM. I have only shot Factory ammo since I don't reload..Right now the Hornady 250 FTX and Black Butterfly 275 grain Barnes XPB group the best for me at 100 yards. The SS barrel on mine seems to be nicely made and has some extra mass weight to it. They first shot surprised me, I was expecting more "kick"..it falls somewhere between my 243 and 30-06 bolt action guns. The 450 BM has worked well for me, it really makes a big entry and exit hole.. the picture is the entry hole..as you can see the 450 BM knocks the "poop" out of hogs..look under the hogs tail

Robert,
Did you shoot that hog with 250FTX or the 275gr Barnes?

Thom, I used a 250 FTX. I could only get 5 of the Barnes bullets. I shot 3 of the 5 to see how they grouped, they shot the same as the Hornadys.. so I only have 2 to try on hogs. I have been twice in the last week but only saw deer and turkeys. For50, they guys at APF told me a standard Carbine Buffer and Spring is what they use, I recently installed a H2 Armaspec Buffer, it seems to shoot fine with either.
