I usually roll my own loads......but has anyone used the 260gr Remington Accutip on deer ?

I just wondered how it held up and performed.

I haven't used it on game, but I seem to remember a thread on here showing that the bullet doesn't perform that great. I bet it's enough for deer, but the 250FTX does better. Biggest issue with the Rem Accutip is consistency. I had a couple hundred rounds of it, from a few different lots, and the C.o.a.l. and crimps were all over the place. Had one box that shot great, the other's, not so much. When I got into reloading, I played with a couple boxes of it. I sorted some rounds out, adjusted the c.o.a.l. and crimps so they were all the same. They did a lot better, but not as good as regular Hornady.

In my experience (and I think there is a range report somewhere on this forum) the Remington leaves a lot to be desired in the accuracy department compared to the Hornady 250 gr FTX. Leave the Remington for plinking; take the Hornady hunting.

I tried them in my rifle and they grouped poorly. I fact very poorly. Of course that doesnt mean they wont shoot well in yours. Hornady ftx 250gr shoot extremely well i should say grouped very well.

The Hornady Black ammo at 50 yds has 1 inch grouping for me.
