Welcome Aboard Mark!

I hear you about it not being shooting weather. Got up this morning to my weather station in the back yard heralding in 2019 to the tune of -8 deg! Hope however reigns supreme. Its supposed to warm up to zero by early afternoon. :lol:

We look forward to your report as soon as the opportunity to go shoot comfortably avails itself to you. Here in MN and by my standards, that's about four months from now. My New Year's wish is that we get a few fluke warms days earlier, like in say three months. :|

I had read earlier posts where the results were not in favor of the 1:16 twist. I've generally had good experience with all my Ruger products and didn't understand exactly why the 1:16 barrels used on these. I was sure I had read where the twist was 1:24 but the Ruger website says 1:16. I'm not sure what to make of it all :?

only that run of stainless #1 had a 10t which I hoped was a typo but confirmed it when I bought mine, current run of blue ones are 16t, and think 16t is their standard for all of their offerings now.

Personally, I think there's too much hype put into twist rates for the 450. There maybe small rises in pressure but one could see that from barrel to barrel no matter what the twist is.

Range report

Took the Ruger MPR to the range. Sorry no chronograph.

100 yards
50 degrees
Sandbag rests
Hornady Black 250g.
Clean dry bore

Looks like it may be the shooter is stringing the shots, not the gun or ammo. This was my second group. Took awhile for the barrel to cool. That's when I started shooting the push pins with the .17 HMR :D

Jerr;

When you get around to reloading for your Ruger MSR, consider trying 36, 36.5 and 37 gr charges of Lil Gun to see which is the most accurate for that rig. One size does not fit all in load recipes. If the groups get tighter as you go up, you can also try 37.5 and 38gr but definitely start lower and work up.

Thanks Hoot! I will field test all three powder loads and post results. By the way, no jambs, FTF, or other issues with Ruger mags.
