Seen that today too. Be interesting to see dimensions on it. My guess it will be close to the 357AR which is basically a rimless 357 Maxi.

I built a 358 x 1.8 on a savage with starlines 223 basic case last year. Been a lil sweetheart.

Looks like they are trying to standardize one of the many .357/8 calibers based off the .223/5.56 case, or maybe a longer version, like Al's. I have wanted to build one for the AR, but too many projects going on. I like it (or others of the same idea), because I have a ton of 5.56 brass (assuming Win's version can use that brass), and only really shoot .223. I have a 300blk pistol upper, but honestly, not a huge fan. It does subs, but is mediocre with supers. 300blk specific bullets helps, but still not that great of energy. I also can't use it for hunting. With a 35 caliber using necked up .223/5.56 brass, I have the brass, it would use powders that we already use for the 450B, I have primers, I have some pistol bullets, and I might be able to use it for hunting (depending on specs). If it specs out like I hope, then I hope it takes off, and I also hope they come out with some cartridge specific bullets for it, preferably expanding coppers. Although, Maker's will make pretty much whatever you want, so I guess someone could give them a call for that.

The Speer 180gr Hot Core is perfect for this round, if the muzzle velocity is at least 2000fps. Any less velocity and this is just a longer cased pistol round, limited to 357 Mag bullets.
The 358MGP, which is a 6.8SPC necked up to 358cal pushes 180gr bullets to 2500fps running 60,000psi. But it has more case capacity than this round will.

I've taken 180gr Fury's and Speer's past 2600fps with a little more room left in the boiler. That's with a 26" barrel, plan is to cut it back to 22-24" this spring, figure 35gr 1680 shouldn't lose much speed I'm hoping.

Your performance is from a bolt gun with a longer COL. No way to get 35gr of 1680 in that shortened version Win is offering. Maybe able to get 28gr compressed into the case, based on my load work with the 358MGP.
