I did some digging and it seems to be for 5 rounds.

If so, not as interesting...I'll keep using my repurposed Sig556 mags that hold eleven...

I also saw that these are 5rd mags, which I'm not really interested in. I see they mention higher capacity mags coming, hopefully they offer 9 or more rds. I have a couple ASC 9rds, and love em, but they quit making those a while back. They starting making 7rd mags, but it looks like they stopped making those, too. I think they only company making 450B specific mags over 5 is Brenton (Bartz). I don't see it stated on there site what the capacity is, but I want to say it's around 7rd. 7 is better than 5, but I would like to see higher.

I saw it mentioned that Tromix offers an 11rd mag, checked it out, and was disappointed when I saw they were converted Tapco mags. I try to stay away from Tapco.

If Tony at Tromix sells converted Tapco mags, they work!

I didn't say they wouldn't work. I personally don't like Tapco, and find it hard to drop $50 on a converted one, even if it's done by Tony.

I didn't realize they were that expensive. I'll stick with my modified P-Mags

For deer hunting, I don’t mind the 5 round mag. I mean, if I can’t fill my tag with one or two...

Anyway, I have an AR Stoner from Midway USA. It’s good, but not perfect. I suspect it’s just a .223 shell with a centered follower. This DURAMAG seems to claim that it’s actually redesigned and purpose-built. I might try one- if I can find one in stock.

the stoner one is a 20 round straight 5.56 mag body with a follower turned upside down for a spacer in the bottom to limit it to 5 rounds.

they cut the little halfmoon groove in the front to help with reliable feeding, but otherwise its pretty much as you described.

and re: 5 rounders for hunting - many states do limit magazine capacity when hunting. michigan is one of them and we've had a 5+1 hunting rule for as long as i can recall (5 in the mag and 1 in the chamber). rimfire doesnt have restrictions and waterfowl is limited to 3 rounds.

All my 450 Stoners are like this, with 4 dimples in the corners to stop the follower at 5 rounds. Midway had a black Friday blowout on them 4-5yrs ago for $10ea so I bought a bunch of them. They need some dehorning but the 6 or so I've tried have all ran flawless in any guns I've tried them in. The followers in mine are identical to the old black followers we had available years ago, but maybe they changed since.
