bullet weight for twist rate

I've searched the search function and google for the past couple of days and really can't figure out the answer.

Is there a certain weight range of bullets that work for a 1/24 twist? Barrel is a Tromix 16 inch mid weight 1/24 twist.

I think it's more a matter of bullet length, rather than weight. Longer bullets need more spin to stabilize.

longest bullet I have shot from a 1-24t was a 275gr Barnes, no problems, but haven't shot the Bushey past 100yds with it.

Hoot should chime in, pretty sure he has shot some resized 325gr .458 FTX without issue.

I was wondering about that also about the bullet length. I've bn reading the forum all day again trying to see what bullets worked and didn't work with it.

Its not just about twist, but velocity as well because its about RPM and yes, its about bullet length. I have never tested a bullet in this caliber over the years, that had performance issues that were a function of a slower twist rate.
