Slings

I'm looking for a great target shooting sling yet one versatile enough to work while hunting. I'm thinking nylon or cotton...leather isn't doing the trick. Thoughts?

Personally I like the one or two point tactical slings better than a traditional sling.. I like being able to walk or stand while hunting and let the rifle is at the ready OR can be dropped and it will just swing to my side..

The epitome of not tacti-kewl but effective. I like and use my Safari Sling all the time. Both hands free for putting in your pockets when standing around, or walking and moving brush out of the way quietly. Works on conventional hunting rifles, even shotguns with sling studs. I even have a BAR, like in the picture.

I would favor a two point attachment sling for hunting, where you will be carrying the gun "slung" for extended periods. Seems more comfortable than to have the rifle / carbine hanging from a single point. I have a mamba sling for my 5.56 carbine; it has an additional strap that runs along the side of the carbine, which some find fiddly. For my 450 rifle I use a simple strap type sling, which can also be used to support the rifle from the weak arm when shooting offhand without a rest. Some are more comfortable than others - depends on the material used, width of the sling, etc.

I'll order some camo belts from them for sure, but I sure can't make heads or tails of their instructions to build their sling!

Please let me know how that works out. If it's easier than it looks, I might purchase one.

Currently I am using a VTAC 2-pt Padded with QD sling swivels.

Rides comfortably in front, easy adjusting to ride tight against your body and ready for anything.

I'm using the same as above but without the padding. I like how quickly it is adjusted and can be used several different ways.
Now I just need Cabelas to get my 450 and ship it!
