"I just noticed that remington discontinued their 450 bushmaster. Anyone know why? It hardly even hit the shelves"
I asked where he noticed this..... no reply yet..

I noticed it a week ago on Remington's website. It shows it but if you look it says DISC and at the bottom on the legend it means discontinued.

I could understand the 30RAR, but perhaps Cerberus Capital Management wants higher sales numbers on their product lines or else it's see 'ya later alligator. It's a tough economy out there right now and with so many folks just ordering uppers when they're on sale from Bushmaster, they weren't getting those numbers. Strictly a guess...

Wow. I'm not sure what this means in the long term. The economy
is so flakey right now. I wonder if it was just Bushmaster competition
or is something bigger going on?

It was pointed out that if you go to the Specifications tab it is listed as discontinued.. wonder what this does to the mythical Remington ammunition for the 450?

With the reorganizing taking place within the Freedom Group, who knows -- it makes no sense anyway for Remington to offer the complete rifle. Bushmaster has sold tons of uppers and I have never seen a Remington. I also have never seen a 30 RAR. That will be next to be discontinued. They need to redesign the 760/742 (or whatever the models are) to be more like the AR -- with modular uppers or even use the milspec upper. Geared strictly to the hunting market --

I've seen both the 15 and the 25 at CTD in McKinney,Tx. They
Are camo. Didn't ask to look at one as I had already ordered
my upper from Bushmaster. For all I could tell, they look pretty
Close to the same. I don't remember if they had muzzle brakes.

No muzzle break on any of the remy's. Wish I new how to post photos, the ones I have are beautiful firearms and actually the best shooting of all my ARs. Ace stocks on all with 1" pad on the 450, makes shooting all day a pleasure to everything But my wallet.

It's still quite prominent on page 36 of the 2011 Remington catalog, so I wouldn't sweat its disappearance just yet.
