Does anyone know if a door breacher brake is out there. Emailed a few places and said they couldn't make one or didn't want to make them because wouldn't be a high demand. Civil that brake looks good, curious to see the performance when tested. Thanks

What are people thinking about when comparing the brake made by ross and this brake from civil? From what I read, ross' brake is now $45, what is the cost of this brake, or has it been tested and offered for sale? Just got my 450 upper yesterday and would welcome any suggestions.

I spoke with Gunny this evening. He hasn't had an opportunity to put either brake on his accelerometer.
Civils' brake, from what I have read, didn't come onto the scene until around Feb.14th.
I am looking forward to seeing the results of several yet to be tested brakes.
But remember the real truth will be revealed by R&D like the accelerometer. Feel is subjective and
there is a lot of room for biases. Only Gunny will be able to narrow down what is really going on
when the bullets travel through these brakes. Nevertheless, This recent brake looks interesting and
I am curious to see some hard data. What we need is to have Civil send gunny his prototype and someone
else to send gunny the Ross Brake. Only then will we know the facts. And while I am a bit wary of those
holes in Civils' brake at the crown, the craftsmanship appears to be thumbs up.
So Civil, how does it shoot just by feel? Also, I would strongly encourage you to get in touch with
Gunnut, and arrange to have him test that Brake. The only way we are going to advance in the Brake technology, is by TRIALS. In the case of hard data capabilities, Gunnut is on the cutting edge.

I ordered my Ross brake this evening. yes, it was $45.00 shipped. After seeing some of the other blingy brakes for over $80.00 at Midway and Brownells, I still think Ross has a good deal. And with a Paypal account, you can order any caliber and he can get it out fairly quick. And just in case you guys are wondering, he does put an 11 degree crown on the muzzle of the brake. I ordered mine in Chrome Moly cuz
I intend on Bluing or coating it. While shiney bling is nice, it spooks the natives. ;)

There is a bluing/blacking solution for stainless steel as well and if you sand blast it with coal slag (Black Diamond) it takes on a graphite dull gray look or it paints nicely on the outside and cleaning is a breeze on the inside. That having been said, I'm a big fan of a deep, rich, salt blue. That's my favorite color. ;)

I wished Gunnut could have been here to put his R&D equipment on my 450B.
