NEW YORK STATE LAW : IF ONE BUYS A STANDARD 30 RD 223 MAG AND THEN CONVERTS IT TO A 450 10 RD MAG DOES THIS BECOME LEGAL.

I live in NY also and this is something that I would love to know as well.

In the past, I had a 25 WSSM upper from Olympic Arms. To get a 10 round magazine, I contacted someone on a forum and had them make me a Pmag with a properly shaved down follower then had them epoxy the base plate on. That way I could not modify the mag to handle 223 again.I have since sold the upper and mag but I was assuming this would be legal. I am not an expert on this matter. Maybe contact someone high up in the NY state police to see if this is an accepted method. You might be able to have someone modify a Sig mag or Pmag to handle the 450 Bushmaster and ship it to you.

Very good question. I'm sure if you can find a pre-ban mag and modify it, there would be no problem but I wonder about a post ban mag?

Maybe you could buy a mag parts kit from calegalmags.com and assemble it with a single stack follower.
