anyone know the thread pattern on the 16" barrels? I've looked all over Bushmasters site with no luck.

It's a real odd ball, 5/8" x 28 pt if I remember correctly. I had ordered, I think a 5/8" x 24pt threaded break to meet NYS's ridiculous "Assault Weapons" ban, and found that it wouldn't fit. In the end I had a local gunsmith order and install a custom gentry quiet brake. Da-Mar gunsmiths in Weedsport NY did the work and it's a real nice job. They deal with Gentry quite a bit and are working on a Gentry 12 guage quiet brake which looks pretty interesting. The custom brake on my .450B was a little over $100 installed.

From memory I believe it's a 11/16 NF

Wildcatter might be right. I remember checking it quickly and thinking it was the standard 5/8 x 24, and being wrong. It may have been the OD I had wrong, rather than the pitch. It may have been 11/16 x 24. The gunsmith may remember. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Yes the muzzle is threaded to 11/16"-24

I drilled and tapped a JP tactical compensator for my 450B

Lehigh Bullets is working on a combo flash hider/muzzle brake for the 458 socom that I think might have promise.

Can you tell a difference with that comp/brake?

I have the larger version on my DPMS 300 shorty mag, it really tamed that one down.

This will help with that boom. If you can afford the $2100 plus tax stamp
