has anyone cut down their 450 to a 14.5" barrel? i was curious on the velocity loss of doing this. i was planning on cutting my 20" to 14.5" and permanently attaching the flash hider. any input on velocity/range loss would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 10.5" on the way. See this thread

Just curious - does the 16" have a true 16" barrel or is it shorter and the brake makes it 16"

It has to be at least 16" or the brake has to be permanently installed.

Measured from the bolt face, with the bolt fully in battery, to the end of the muzzle or to the end of the permanently attached Brake as the Mudder has stated. Permanently means like as in welded on, Loc-tite type products are not good enough..
