WC, I use those on all of my ARs. You can get a pack of three at Cheaper than Dirt for like 7 bucks. But I don't have any alignment issues. These little orange/ red doo-dads firm up the mating of the lower and the upper.

i definitly agree with yall im no where close to even takin any metal from anywhere and i was going to use some clay. to try and determine the exact location of the problem. as to the accuwedge no i dont have anything like that in there it is a very basic lower. and at the moment it is the onlyone i have to try out my dad has my other one. i am going to market hall gun show in june in dallas and was going to get a stripped lower to build this on and i will take it with me. and make sure it fits. and i will just leave this lower for my 223. thanks for the help. when i get to mess with it again i will let yall know if i figure anything out.

Well I can tell you for sure that Stag lowers for the 5.56 will work and if you are in the DFW area, the Cheaper Than Dirt store in McKinney has those accuwedges in stock.

Yup, I only wanted to highlight that these wedges or some other kind of wedge, better known as junk, could get in the way. But, he indicates it doesn't have anything, say, running around loose in the lower.

This is a bit of a mystery, and the clay gig will reveal allot.

deviousepack, the clay you want to use is generally called Duct Seal, it's an oil base modeling clay that doesn't dry easily, and perfect for all kinds of GunSmithing applications and tool and die needs in general. I use it allot..

I too welcome you to the board, Tex here is making the somores..

Gee, I hope it is not something this obvious, but on my Bushmaster XM15 5.56, the action must either be cocked or uncocked (I can't remember which), or I cannot close the upper on the lower. This isn't the cast on my 450, as it will close either way, but you might check it both ways on yours.

I use the accuwedge on my 5.56 to snug up the fit between the upper and lower, but it a) is not required on my 450 and b) prevents me from inserting the pin on the rear of the lower if it is in.

I also use the wedge on my XM15 with both the 5.56 and the 450B uppers.
On the Stag Lower, I had to trim about an 1/8th inch off the bottom of the accuwedge to achieve proper fit.
The Bushmaster Lower has a deeper milling in the action than the Stag.
Maybe RRA has an even shallower milling than the Stag?
If I can make some time, I will make some measurements and fill yawl in.

Okay, I took some pictures of a Bushmaster Lower and a Stag Arms Lower.
First the Bushmaster XM15 Lower.
