Welcome! Did you do the straight jacket idea to your barrel from the gas block forward?

Check this system out! I'm thinking of doing it to a 22-250 of mine.

[quote="oldmanjeffers"]Welcome! Did you do the straight jacket idea to your barrel from the gas block forward?

i just wanted a short, "snag free", semi auto setup for big boar hunting, at first... custom lathed the gas block to fit in the front hand guard, a barrel tube, and a thread protector out of 7075 aluminum...kept the tolerance very close and the three pieces actually weigh less than the original steel gas block that came standard...once mounted and locked down the rifle is changed...

all i can say is what a difference when shooting, the "kick" is just a "push" now.... im pretty sure now that a free float barrel in this caliber and a 16" barrel doesnt matter, very accurate... also the aluminum acts like a heat sink, shoot shoot shoot and the barrel just gets warm :D

thanks for the welcome, im looking forward to trading more ideas for the 450... miles of smiles :D

Very nice! Welcome to the community! What plans do you have for optics on the .450. :D

That's a nice rifle degoose! As far as lowers go the spikes and the POF tie for number one on my list. I especially like the FA symbols the use on the selector.

My dream AR in .308 is the POF P-308 12" in NP3. Been wanting one of Spike's 9" side loading Havoc 37mm launchers. :D
