Here's my bushy .450. Put together for me by AIC (Alkali International Corp. at (775) 625-2413 ) a couple years ago.

    Stag Arms Left hand upper,
    Kreiger barrel,
    ambi charging handle,
    folding sights
    carbon fiber forend,
    custom muzzle brake!

Have also added a Tasco Pro-point and Harris Bi-pod to the rig. Excellect workmanship and built exactly to my specifications.

Very good glass, reticles could be a little darker.
When I get some more time on it I'll give a proper opinion.

Thumper has new eyes

Put a Nikon 1.65 - 5 Slughunter on Thumper today. Seems like a pretty good match. Low variable for walking in the woods and still enough for 100+ yard shooting. Long and very non-critical eye relief. I shot till about sunset so even though it wasn't real low light it seemed bright enough. Not quite as bright as the Bausch and Lomb Balvar it replaced but the gloss finished B & L just didn't look quite right. 100 yard groups on 5 power stayed at 1.5 inches. With a 9 power I can get some 1 inch groups but my old eyes can just barely see the 1/2 inch bull at 100 yds. The scope is supposed to hold up well with recoil so a few more sessions should tell the tale there. I may need to change the rings to get another 1/4 inch of scope height for a quick mount in the woods.

Changed the mounts on the Nikon Slughunter from YHM mini risers and low rings to Millett X-High AR flat top rings. The additional height puts the scope at exactly the right position to be in full view when I mount the rifle. Maybe today was just a better "old eyeball day" or maybe the more comfortable scope position made a difference but I went from groups just under an inch and a half yesterday to several groups under an inch today. And today there was a fluttering wind at about 10 mph. The Millett rings look kind of spindly because they are so tall but they are all steel and seem bullet proof strong.
