Midlength Free Float Tube?

Postby ebusa » Tue Feb 02, 2010 9:27 pm

Does anyone know if a Midlength Freefloat tube would fit over the stock gas rail block on the 16'' 450?

Just wondering if one could take off the carbine forearm tube and slide a midlength on and over the gas block?

You would need to replace the block with a low profile version. Depending on the forearm, many of them require you to remove the gas block for installation, which would be a good time to replace it with the low profile one.

Bushmaster will replace the gas block with a dissapator block (29.00). If you have the two piece handguard (not the V-Match), you could purchase the rifle lenght tube as used on the 20" and screw it on. If you have the V-Match tube, they will install the new 2 piece (current build) for 96.00. Basically they will make the mods for the price of the parts.

I just asked this question of them. Why? Because!
