Attaching Sling to Railed Gas Block?

Postby ebusa » Sun Jun 26, 2011 10:00 am

Hey Guys,

I really want to use a two point sling on my thumper. I plan on using my side mount on my ACE stock. However, for the front, can I attached a QD mount to the railed gas block without issues? Anyone else done this?

I'm not worried about affecting accuracy as I don't normally use my sling tight when shooting. I just wonder if its strong enough or if you think I'll have problems at this attachement point? Doen't looked pinned but seems like it's on thier tight as hell.

thanks

Shouldn't be a problem...that's what the rails are there for, among other attachments. On a lot of other ARs, the front sight/gas block has a sling loop already mounted to it.

Thanks for the reply. After searching and searching, I found something that will work. I really was trying to stay away from attaching to the gas block.

Gonna drill a hole in my forearm and attached the following QD Rotational Limited Sling MOUNT-N-SLOT. Saw another member on here in the picture section with it so it should work great and solid!
