I spent some time sourcing quality upper parts:
RRA Upper Receiver w/FA & dust cover I'll have to remove. $145
RRA BCG $130
RRA Charging Handle $25
Mid-Length Gas tube $13

$313 + Shipping
I already have an aluminum free float hand guard and bull barrel gas block left over from my last A3 build I sold when money was tight. The idea was to follow Mike's advice and use an MGI barrel and bolt, but much to my dismay, I realized the barrel is only available in 16" and I want the 20" version.
So, now my choices are back to either paying Midway $765 or waiting an interminably long month before I even know whether Bushmaster will once again have the 20" complete upper offered in their Tax Time sale.
If the Tax Time sale does not materialize, I'll wind up paying as much as simply ordering the complete 20" rifle off of Gunbroker.
I already ordered all the reloading components from Midway except for the brass which is back ordered. Thanks Greg for the $10 off promo code.
