Well now that someone has brought up the issue of triggers, I feel almost obligated to upgrade my Bushmaster OEM trigger on my XM15 lower, even though it has virtually no creep, resets crisply, but does take a lot to pull - I am estimating between 7 and 9 pounds.
Not being very mechanically inclined, I am looking at the Timney .154" with the skeletonized trigger (because it looks cool, that's why) that is a drop-in replacement. However, three questions have come up:
The Timney is a single stage (as is my current trigger) and the RRA is a double stage trigger. What is the difference and why should I prefer one over the other?
The Timney comes in both 3 and 4 pound pull versions. Anyone have a preference? I am inclined to go with the 3# version, but I have read elsewhere that may be too light for general use (target shooting, hunting) and that it is more suitable for match competition.
Joe Bob Outfitters (see link in earlier post) indicates that the RRA comes without springs (although the photo shows springs and pins). Does anyone know if it really does include springs? If not, should I order the JP Enterprises springs?
Any input would be most appreciated.
