How about the 18th of MAY for opening Season, that's a Tuesday and the Tuesday after the NRA Show, which is the 14th, 15th, and 16th of May, which I have to attend.

So, my thinking is to come down for the Show and then drive over for the Hunt, making Monday the 17th a travel day. What do you guys think about this schedule? If Bushmiester and the GunNut give their blessings, then let's do the May 18th Season.

If this is a good date (18MAY10) and some want to attend the Show, maybe we can do it together, or dinner or something else.

BD, by the tone of your post, it sounds like you may be coming, I hope.

OK Guy's! Looks like the 17th - 19th of May 2010 to test the Brakes. I think the cut off should be the 15th for the brakes that need to be modified. Those who participate will recieve full reports! I will NOT be posting the result. Just too much to post. It will be your info and you can post it if you like. For those who can make it to the tests, You can take my recoil reduction system for a test drive, kick the tires, Let me know what you thing. A bunch of guy's getting together to shot guns and burn meat! Sounds like fun to me!

I'd like to make it, but there's no way I can do it mid week. I'll mail the gentry "Quiet Brake" to Gunnut prior to the date. I'm also interested in the recoil reducing stock.

Sorry to hear you can't make it. Maybe the next "gathering". You will get a full report on the "quiet brake". I've made some major advances with the butt stock. It is now only 1.5ozs over a standard one.
The recoil reducers are coming along fine also. I think the most efficient will weigh in about 6 - 8ozs. Bringing the total weight to 7.5- 9.5ozs. 2.5- 4.5ozs less than adding an H2 buffer of 12ozs.
Thanks for your interest and participation!

The NRA show is in Charlotte? If so I may be able to drive up for it. I won't know until closer to the date as Saturday work is determined by where we are at the end of the week, and how that relates to materials and the schedule.

Then it's a go for the opening day on the 18th. Mark, get an idea how many are coming, so you can get enough rooms and check in ought to be the 17th, so we can get an early start on the 18th. I can do three days.

You gents make sure you tell the Gunny what brakes you are sending, so we don't get any duplicates and then get them over to him. We'll convert them to 11/16 x 24tpi threads, provided they have enough meat to do so. If you are not sure, get a hold of one of us so we can confirm the conversion possibilities. Typically, anything that already has a 5/8" thread made for a Heavy barrel (.750" Barrel O.D.), will do just fine, but other sizes can work too.
