I really think the 275gr at about 45,000psi should've been the factory "standard" load for the 450b rifles when they came out. What a sledge-hammer! I also rolled up a few boxes of 325gr Barnes Busters to try out, hopefully soon, speaking of a sledge-hammer...
If one doesn't feel like rolling one's own, the three factory loads (assuming Remmy produces the HH) cover just about everything. A 200gr version from Hornady, or whoever, would be a great addition to the lineup, too.
I tried, but Hornady's Lawyers beat me up and one the day, which is the reason Lawyers should not be engineers.
As for the Hornady 225's. They do turn up tremendous results, on target paper. But consider, that bullet was designed for the 45 Colt and is still expanding at 300fps. Now, what happens to that same bullet at 2200fps+? It may not even get into the boiler room of anything resembling "Big-Game" and let's hope that the animal doesn't want to stomp a Mud-Hole into your took-us..
