Has anyone removed the stock handguard on their 16" 450 upper?
I am having a hell of a time getting this thing off

Have you tried a STRAP WRENCH yet? Always works for me and you can get cheap ones at Home Depot for about 6-8 bucks, but they are available everywhere tools are sold..t

Ok I got the hand guard off. Now I just gotta get the barrel nut. I have it soaking in kroil right now.
had to use a heat gun on the handguard and a strap wrench but I was tough.

Curiosity has me. What are you going to do as a replacement? Or are you changing something else?
My Daddy was wrong when he said: "When a man turns 60 he ought to be able to trade his testicles in on a new set of teeth." Oatmeal and soup don't sound too bad.

Got it. That mother father was on there tight. I had the upper locked in a vice, I lifted myself off the ground with the barrel nut wrench. Finally it broke free.

Got the new handguard on, gas block reinstalled and the triangle FSB installed at the midlength location. I'll post pics when I get to the camera.

Ok crappy cell phone pics in the picture thread. I'm on my iPhone so I'm not gonna post it all again.
