Extracting problem or ejection problem

Postby 916trdtaco » Tue Nov 15, 2011 1:43 am

Hey everyone,

I'm new to this form...Im having problem with my .450B extracting shell casing.
I was wondering how would I solved this? Took it out to the range to get it sighted
In at a 100 yards. Out of 20 rds, I had about 8 failure to eject. It's a brand new upper
The I have mounted on my S&W M&P 15. So please help me solve this problem.

Very common unfortunately. Here's one of the threads about it. You can do a search and find more:

Can you post close-up pics of a spent round where it is stuck, especially try to include a view of the next round in the mag along with the stuck case?

Welcome to our electronic Campfire. I'm sure we can help you, so first off, let's see some pictures of your issue. I recently started using photobucket to post pics here but the forum does have it's own upload feature. But the pics have to be very small in resolution. Photo bucket can help you get the images on here by using the IMG code of a pic you have already uploaded to photobucket. But still try to keep the pics down to a reasonable resolution. (less than a Meg).
First be sure your ejector does not have debris behind it clogging up the spring. Same thing goes for the extractor. I have heard a few guys say they found brass shavings and other bits of particles in and around the springs and the ejector plunger or the extractor back where the extractor spring is in contact with the extractor. Maybe I can find a instructional video for ya.

I Just recently uploaded some pics. So please check them out and let me know what you think seem to be the problem.
I also got a hold of a local Gunsmith, he told me to bring in the upper and the ammo so that he test fire it check what's wrong
with the failure to etract/ejection. He quoted me $50...Its a brand new upper with less than 25rds through it...
