16" or 20"

hey guys,
i'm looking to complete my ar build as a 450bm and cant decide on barrel length. is the 20 much more accurate than the 16? i know a lot of it is personal preference but just wanted some in put from the pros as i am new to the world of the 450. the main use for this weapon will be deer hunting in northern indiana in 2012 as the dnr has increased the cartridge restrictions for rifle usage. always wanted to hunt deer with the ar platform as it is a weapon system that i have a lot of experience with. any recommendations would be appreciated!

I have the 16" and love it.. its short enough for easy handling and I think the balance is better than a 20"

Accuracy is great out of either model - even with me shooting.. lol

You will loose a little velocity going from the 20 down to a 16.. BUT out to 200 yds it will still have enough energy to put down just about anything..

First of all I'm new here so I want to say "Hi" to everyone.

Now for the 16" or 20"? I have to agree with what thatguy said. I went with the 16" but all of my rifles have carbine barrels. I can't help it! I like carbines.

Get the one you fill would best serve you!

I purchased the 20" because I wanted the extra velocity.

I went with the 20". I believe in prior discussions, the 20 gives about 126FPS more velocity, more time on the Lands and more complete powder burn less muzzle flash. But from what I have read here, other than the previously mentioned advantages, the 16" kills just as well and has better mobility in brush country.

Yes sir it sure is. I have a 16 but I bought mine for close range pig and elk busting. I'm confident that at 250 yards I could still kill either one of those critters and they would not know the difference between a 16 or 20 inch upper that knocked then on their can.

Get what serves you best. That 20 inch upgrade kit sounds nice though. Should really benefit handloaders.

I've got one of each upper and still haven't made up my mind, but need to get some serious shooting in after deer season.

If I had to do it over, I'd probably op for the 18" Remmy

I've enjoyed my 16". Carrying it in the woods is easy, just ask yourself what is more important to you personally, more velocity or more portability?
