A few more advantages I have found, with the Izzy or Ross Brake, the further I can get that blast away from me, the better off my poor, abused ears are. Also, with more barrel, the more complete the powder burn therefore less flash and at night with my nightvision scope, that's important so I don't flash-blind the scope or myself.

I bought the the 20" because I already had a 16 " on my .223 and I wanted a different looking rifle. I also think the higher velocity with the longer barrel gives you better accuracy, and the 450 with 20" is more accurate for me than my.223 with a 16" barrel.

If I didn't handload and did a lot of stalking I'd get a 16 inch upper. If you want the most performance the 20 inch will shoot faster, especially with a BC weight or a longer gas system.I know there is more performance available but you can tear rims trying to get there without the above mods.I am happy with mine the way it is,I get very good groups and the recoil isn't bad at all to me.My heavy 45-70 loads are much more shoulder bumping.I like being able to do more later on with the 20 inch.I can have the barrel shortened any time by sending it to Adcor or a gunsmith but you can't add barrel length.I think the handguard looks better on the 20 inch also and better if you want to use a bipod.

I would say that most hunters prefer the 16", while most shooters prefer the 20", I know there are a few outside of this, but in general, the 16 is much easier to swing and carry, while the 20 has more fps.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Bushmeister.
But now I find myself asking - "Am I a hunter that goes shooting, or am I a shooter that goes hunting????" :? :? :?

I went with the 16" mostly because that's what I could find! Cabelas had them at a good price. This is my first year hunting with it and I love the ease I can maneuver it in my box blind. I should have built the blind a little bigger but the carbine length is great.
