I would also check out D&D gun smithing in Troy. I really didn't like the free-float mag light Handguard that came on my upper so I had them replace it with another one I had available. A few years ago I had them shorten a mini-14 barrel and it wasn't too crazy expensive. I think I paid them $60 in install my new Handguard. Seeing as that took basically disassembling the upper, I figured they already had the proper tools so it was money well spent IMHO.
