from my 416 Weatherby days and having one with a factory brake and one 4 port magna ported, the brake was hands down more comfortable to shoot.

Porting will simply put a slit into the barrel which offers around 15% of recoil reduction. The brake will offer way more! I looked at both from magna port and the brakes a no brainer side by side.

I had heard that Ruger was going to offer this round. This has been quite the subject here in Michigan where it is now legal in the southern zone. This will be a very popular rifle in these parts as Randy's Guns can attest. There are also rumors of Savage following suit.

Anybody know where to get an adapter for the 11/16x24 threads to either 5/8x24 threads or 3/4x24 threads so I can put my Silencerco Hybrid Suppressor on the Ruger?
For some stupid reason Ruger put 11/16x24 threads on it and for which no one makes a direct thread fitting for a can in that size that I am aware of. I'm not going to spend $150 for a muzzle brake when I have a $900 can I can put on it. I want it quieter not louder, lol.

Welcome aboard Hunter

It wasn't Ruger's idea. Bushmaster originally came out with that muzzle thread long before a bolt action in this caliber was even dreamt of. Ruger just followed suit. IIRC, the reason was so that less astute (gene pool cleansing) shooters would not try to screw a smaller ID Muzzle Device on and blow the end of the barrel off. If you think those are bad, be grateful you don't have a 50 Beowulf. Their muzzle threads are 49/64-20.

Message ROSS and see if his shop can make one. Or try BK GunNStuff.
