I have a new Ruger 16" bolt action coming Friday.
I also gave a couple of hybrids I use on a variety of arms.
Has anyone here had any experience suppressing the 450?

I haven't seen any specific reviews, but please test it out and let us know! I've been thinking of buying a Hybrid for the 450 and others, but haven't spent the money yet. I have an Omega and like the fact that I could use the Hybrid with the ASR mount and swap the Hybrid on the same hosts, plus use it on a 9mm AR and pistols.

There's no 11/16-24 direct tread mount made for the Hybrid....I've call and Emailed they just won't make them...

I don't like flash suppressors or muzzle brakes on my guns....so a ASR is out of the question....

That's too bad then. I use the ASR brakes and flash hiders on my rifles for the Omega. I wonder if you could find someone that could make an adapter that was still concentric?

Looking at SilencerCo's website, they offer the direct thread mounts in 5/8 x24, 3/4 x24, 1/2 x28, M18 x1 and M18 X1.5. It would just have to be an adapter that went from the Bushmaster 11/16 x24 threads, to one of the patterns that the direct thread mounts come in. Something like this from Brownells:

Not my circus, not my clowns, but that looks like an entrepreneurial opportunity waiting for someone to fill. "Hey Ross?"

It definitely could be, it would be important to make sure that the threads were absolutely concentric, so there is no possibility of a baffle strike. The adapter could also be permanently mounted, or at least with Rocksett to keep it from coming loose with the suppressor.

fuzzy farmer math says root diameter of a 3/4-24 thread is around .700.

might be doable by matching leads of the ID and OD threads, I'll have to draw it up to be sure.

Ok, so I picked up my Ruger 450bm this afternoon and have mounted a Vortex 1-6x24 strike eagle on it and also, an ASR muzzle break. I am hoping to get out tomorrow and sight it in and try out the hybrid.
I'll report back how it works soon.
