I have to get my hands on one to see how it would feed odd ball 450B loads. For instance, feeding WFN, LFN, long lead bullets, ect. The RAR, which I have, if fussy about feeding the aforementioned bullets. It feeds the FXT styles perfectly, but hiccups with certain projectiles. The AR does not seem to have this issue, as it almost will feed a wad cutter, but the distance to the feed ramp to the chamber mouth is long on the RAR, plus the angle of entrance can very based on the OAL cartridge length. It is easy for the flat nose bullet to get cocked sideways ever so slightly and hit the chamber mouth wall. ALL the Americans I have are the same way. The breach is squared off and no cone. BUT the RAR feeds factory ammo flawlessly, as well as my reduced load using the Hornady 225 grain FXT.
I have owned a Ruger Gunsite Scout in 308 and do currently have a Ruger American Predator in 308. The Ruger American easily shoots better than the Gunsite scout did --- with the same 308 match loads. But the Scout does offer some advantages in magazines, optic placement, ect.
