Christensen Arms 450 Bushmaster

Postby Colohunter » Tue Oct 10, 2017 9:24 am

I was looking at some lightweight hunting rifles yesterday and have seen the Christensen Arms rifles at my local Sportsman's Warehouse a couple times. I was checking out their website and noticed that the 450 Bushmaster was listed as an option for the Ridgeline series and a couple of the others. I have never used one of their rifles, but it looked interesting. This model is a carbon wrapped barrel. I definitely like seeing more manufacturers offering a 450!

Was the brake effective, or did it beat you up pretty good? I was actually looking for a lightweight 7mm Rem Mag with a barrel heavy enough to support a suppressor. Most of the lightweight rifles have pencil barrels, unfortunately.

it worked good, looked like the one in the pic.

I'm not recoil sensitive so takes a pretty good thump to get my attention.

Just picked up the Mesa 450 (steel barreled version). Hoping to shoot it soon and get some load development rolling this winter!

It really is! And for anyone wondering about the brake the gun is pretty tame. Like I shot 78 rounds yesterday and at no point in time did I start to feel it. The new limbsaver pad that comes on it is pretty badass too. Hopefully next time out I’ll have a pet load figured out for it using 250 FTX and lil gun
