Good Morning guys! My name is Tyler Shiery and i'm in charge of the sales and marketing for Bear Creek Ballistics. We appreciate the talk about our ammo! To answer a few questions about it, the bullet is an all copper bullet we are producing ourselves that we manufacture right in Michigan! The bullets are 100% copper and will retain close to 100% weight following impact. On impact they will completely open with 6 petals to make a flower shape. They are engineered to open as soon as it enters the hide before entering the muscle or bone, they will open to approx. .75"-1". And yes our rounds are to long to be cycled through an AR platform, in the not so distant future we are hoping to be producing a round to be shot through the AR platform. If you have any questions at all we can be reached at (269) 979-4331 or at Bearcreekballistics@gmail.com. Thanks for the talk and happy hunting!

Thanks for coming onboard Tyler!

Can you tell us how long that bullet is and the actual COL of the finished ammunition?

Thanks,

Hoot

EDIT: The Barnes 275gr TSX length is 1.024 and fits just fine in an AR 450b cartridge. Still room for more powder.

They will open consistently with a impact of 1,000 ft-lbs. That would be 400 yards for our custom 450 ammo.

1.15 is not too long to work with in an AR 15 platform, especially considering that there appears to be enough bearing surface to set them deeper.

Thanks for the info.

They may have developed that cartridge load and bullet for California as CA now requires everyone to use lead free bullets and shot in the state. Some other states like New Jersey may require it too.

Impressive. Are these the same bullets sold in the muzzleloader bullet/sabot combo? If so will you ever sell the bullets only in higher quantities?
