Nice! I'm still contemplating a bolt gun 450B. Not enough time for my current gun projects, though.

Hi I'm new to this forum I have been Hunting and reloading for over 50 years. I just picked up a new Ruger American 450 Bushmaster with a 22" barrel. I'm reloading with a 200 FTX I can not check the Velocity my old chronograph is not working. The load I'm going with in this rifle is 51gr of H110 with a CCI450 magnum primer. There are no presser signs with this load in my rifle.
All reloading and firing of reloaded ammunition is done at your own risk. The load data is for bolt action rifles

I realize that bolt actions in this caliber can handle more pressure but Holy Balls, 51gr of H110 sure sounds like a problem looking for a place to happen. Have you mic'd your brass to see what that pressure does to them? IE Primer pockets still snug? Casehead growth?

that's a case full for sure. My guess you'll be in the 27-2800 fps range

Hi yes I have check the web and there no expansion. the primer pockets are still tight and no the case head is not growing. bolt is not hard to open.
I have work up starting at 44.5gr to 51gr checking after every shot with mic.

The Ruger American action will handle the 300 win mag at 65,000 psi
and the AR 450 Bushmaster will only handle 43,000 psi. This is just like 30-30
in a Winchester rifle 40,000 psi and a Remington 788 in 30-30 would hold
55,000 to 60,000 psi

looking forward to your paper results.

I've ran the 200gr Barnes very close to that with the same charge of 300MP in my 22" 700 and 22" 45 Raptor.

I'm not a FTX fan for performance at regular 450 speeds let alone speeds north, that's why I switched to the Barnes.
