Getting ready to order. Still not sure if I want the Ranch 16" or the American 2 2" in the 4 50Bushmaster. Sure would appreciate your input.

Same here. I’m gonna go w the 22in.

I have no experience with the bolt action 450B, but I would say whichever one your more comfortable with. You will gain a decent velocity bump going from a 16" to a 22", but a 16" 450B is still very effective!

I like to get all I can get speed wise, so 22" has my vote.

Thanks guys , but I'm still looking at both. There are definitely advantages to both. It's going to come down to how each feels in my hands , if I can find a dealer that has any. Both are very slim in my area.

I happen to own the Ruger American Ranch. If I had to choose between my 16-1/4" barrel and a 22" barrel, I would choose the 22" barrel. My RAR rifle had alot of muzzle jump when it was new. Even with filling in forend and buttstock with epoxy and adding a Next Level Armament muzzlebrake it still has noticable muzzle jump. There are people that are having problems with their scopes sliding when shooting their RAR rifles including myself. IMHO I would save myself the rework on the 16-1/4" RAR and buy the 22" Ruger American. Just my 2 cents worth.

I’ve heard about issues with bases coming loose, and scope breakage issues with the Ruger. Has this been with the 16in only, or with the 22in as well? Also, I’ve been trying to research the 22in go wild rifle, but haven’t been able to find much out there? My heart was set on the 22in go wild edition, but starting to consider the savage 110 scout. I want this gun for a deer hunting rig. Any I put would be much appreciated!

I have quite a variety of the Ruger 450s, one of which includes the "Go Wild Camo". What kind of questions do you have about it?
I have found it to be as accurate as all the Ruger 450s are. The one thing I did with it, is prior to mounting the scope, I removed the rail, degreased the rail screws and the holes and after everything was dry, I applied blue loctite to screws before reassembling it, let it set 24hrs and then mounted rings and scope. I have never had a problem with scope or rings and it has held its zero, even with some heavy handloads with the 275gr Barnes bullets.
With it weighing 6.6# without scope and a little over 7#s with scope mounted, recoil is comparable to a .243.

For anyone that is interested there are a few videos on YouTube on the Go Wild 22" . I been trying to read anything about the 22" barrel I can and have not seen anything about lose bases or rings but I definitely agree with pulling the screws and adding loc-tight.
