General questions from a newbie youngster.

Postby Coup100 » Sat Sep 14, 2019 6:02 pm

First off, hello! I just came across this forum, and hoping it will
give answers generously, for I will need them.

So I'm a 13 yr old 'newbie', as the title suggests.
I've been around guns all my life, but have specifically gotten
interested in them since I was 10, and my present age leads
to one of my questions: how's the 450b's recoil compared to a 20 gauge
shotgun shooting buchshot? Or how's it compared to shooting a 50cal
muzzleloader? Or a 308?

Most likely the rifle I'd be hunting/shooting with would be a
Mossberg patriot (450 bushmaster) without a muzzlebrake.
I probably wouldn't be using a Ruger because it seems to be
a little more expensive, etc.

I'll have to gather the rest of my questions later, but these/this is
one/some of them.

Thank you,

My buddy has a Mossberg with synthetic stock without a muzzlebrake and was pleasantly surprised with lack of recoil compared to Ruger American Ranch. His rifle with 4-12x40 Swift Premier scope had the recoil of a 243Win.

if you can handle a full house 20g load, a 308 and a 50 cal ML loaded full boar....

you should be fine behind a 450 - especially if you put a decent brake on it.

308s I can handle, and 50cal ml's are a breeze...

Thanks for the responses, sounds like I'll be fine with the recoil.
But wait! I will have more questions..... a little later.

Thanks,

I agree with the others. I was intending to put a muzzle brake on mine, but I doubt I will after shooting it. It kicks, but not enough to matter.
