Just ordered one for $269.99 with free shipping from Sportsman’s Outdoor Superstore. This is the one with 20” threaded barrel. Get ‘um while you can!

I agree, it’s a great price with free shipping. Needless to say, I bought one. My FFL only charges me $15 for a transfer, so I’ll have less than $300 in the rifle. Recently bought a Nikon ProStaff P3 3-9x40 scope, and I’ll surely try it on this one.

I thought about getting the Mossberg but I really wanted a CVA Cascade so that is what I bought. My son bought a CVA Hunter (break open single shot) and I was really impressed with smooth action, trigger pull and the accuracy. Wanted to see what their first bolt action would do.

I have a buddy with the Mossberg and it shoots right around MOA with factor ammo.

I haven’t broke down and bought any factory ammo and probably won’t, cast reloads for me although when bullets get back on the shelves I may try some jacketed reloads just because...

My daughter has a CVA Hunter in .243, and it’s extremely accurate. The crap Konus scope it came with crapped out within 5 shots, and I replaced it with a Redfield Revenge 2-7. We’ve used it for years now.

well, it finally came in a couple days ago, and I’m impressed so far. Stock is free floated, and the trigger is great! It breaks at about three pounds as delivered, and is adjustable, although I’ll leave it alone for now. Added a pair of Weaver steel rings and a Nikon Prostaff P3 3-9x40 scope. Have only fired for function, but hope to get it sighted in this weekend.

Sighted it in today, and it’s very accurate. One problem though, is the recoil pad, it’s got a rib right in the pads center and the recoil is concentrated on that one spot. It’s quite a bit harder than the rest of the pad, and quite uncomfortable after a few shots. I put 20 rounds through it today, and had to put it up.

I really like the rifle other than that one gripe. Does anyone know of a pre-fit recoil pad for this rifle? I’ve never fitted a grind to fit pad before, but may try it now.
