So I went looking for a Kimber Tactical Custom HD II, but it seems that the manufacturer has taken some time off since the Shot Show. It was an estimated 6 months before my gun dealer could get me one. Not being the most patient gun buyer, I looked at other 1911's: Sig, Citadel, other Kimbers....now I know that a Springfield, Wilson or other brands have great reps, but I was looking to spend around 1200 of my hard earned dollars on another .45 ACP. I have been desiring a P220 for a long time, have heard all the great stories about reliability, shootability, accuracy and complete obsession with the P platform pistols from friends in LE. When my dealer told me he could have one here on Tuesday, well....I just couldn't resist. I dry-fired a compact model and the DA pull is smooth and it's ONLY the first shot, right? The SA pull is quick and clean. So, I am waiting with baited breath for my new baby to arrive. Can't wait to see how she stacks up to my other .45s.

Ive got a 220 equinox and love it. I will say, if you got a 220 that does not have the SRT trigger. BUY IT! I can't even begin to describe how much better it will make an already amazing pistol. Worth every penny.

I ran 250 rounds through the 220 this weekend. Here are my observations:

DA trigger pull is a dream.....SA is still more desireable....still think my XD is better
Claims of tightest groups right out of the box...well, let's just say that when I pay close to 1K for a pistol, it should out shoot my existing 500 buck guns. It printed slightly left and low of POA. Now before you accuse the shooter, I turned right around and got my "Run of the mill", standard XD 45 SVC pistol and dotted "I"s and crossed "T"s. So let's just say that it grouped well, but like everyother pistol I have ever owned, it DOES require break-in. On that note, from 50 feet it was shooting about 6in low and left of POA....second day of firing(100rds) it is starting to tighten up. My best pistol out of the box was my Kimber Ultra Carry, and that's with a 3" barrel.

I did have an issue with the mags (I have 4) would seat, but pop out when I closed the slide, not chambering a round. After the first instance of the "Click". I really had to focus on tapping that sucker in there before racking the slide.

The decocker is not as crisp as the M9 Beretta, but who want's to hear a "Snap" when you're lowering the hammer, right? All this being said, these are really "Knitpicky" things. It's a fine weapon and I'm sure after about 200 more rounds it'll become a favorite. Here is the first of many of the targets I drilled. The top groups are from between 7 ft and 15 ft. The second grouping is from 25 to 45ft and the lowest, in the white grouping is from 50 to 70ft. Of note: I did get 5 out of 7 silhouette head shots this afternoon from the 70ft line.
