Wonder what they are exactly? It's hard to imagine a single powder that would be "the best" in both the .308 and .450B Leverevolution loadings.

Am I missing something that mentions the 450b? I see no part of the article below the hotlinked "continue article" line. Are those three paragraphs, two above and one below the picture, it?

I thought the factory was using 297 in there load.
Are they developing something that will give them better consistency? Thats the big drawback I see with W297 from lot to lot

Yup, Yup, And Yup, you'll have to work up a load for each lot of 297, the good news is, I see it for $89 bucks for 8 lbs for fresh new stuff, although I was looking last night and didn't find any. I'm thinking that Hodgdon's may actually be for other cartridges, maybe. Guess I'll have to find out what the Burn Rate is, unless someone beats me to it..t

I was surprised with my last pound of Lil Gun. It yielded almost an additional 100 fps average over the previous three pounds, for the same load. Seemed to burn a tad faster which is not a bad thing for the lighter loads. Still it caught me by surprise. First couple of shots, I couldn't figure out what was going on. Thought my scale was messed up or something. It's a good argument for getting several pounds from the same lot at a time if you can't justify an 8-pounder based on your use.

Yea -- and it is in 90's here now -- that can be a consideration. Is it temperature sensitive? There is an experiment for you.

That's a valid factor, but I didn't shoot the entire pound on the same hot day. I usually go to the range as soon as it opens and on cool days whenever possible. That's partly why you haven't seen me posting much the past month. I lose my mind when I have to wait 10 minutes between shots for the barrel to cool. Much more prefer temps that allow me to shoot every minute. No, it was noticeably different than the previous batches. What it made me wonder was whether the first 3 pounds were from a weak lot or the last one was from a strong one.
