230 gr XTP Load

Postby Coughitup » Sat Sep 04, 2010 8:31 pm

Hello
I have been lurking for awhile and really love my 450 and this forum. I have reloaded some ammo with the 250 ftx and have had great success with the loads posted on the forum. I purchased some 230 gr xtp bullets and could not find a load using the search function or in the knowledge base. Anyone have a load they like?
Thanks
Bryan

Welcome aboard Brian!

I have two boxes of the 230 gr XTP bullets for my 1911. I tried loading them early on and had lackluster results with them. They shed pieces of jacket and almost trashed my Chrony. Accuracy was all over a sheet of target paper at 100 yards. The 240 gr XTP Magnum bullets are more accurate and hold together at the muzzle velocities generated by the 450b.
