Dawg, I wonder if those hornady flat tips have a stronger/thicker jacket than those round noses that expand like hollow points in your water jugs. Weren't you using a different brand on the round noses?

The round nose FMJs are MagTechs. GunNut has pushed these through his rifle with 41+ grains of Lil Gun. I have pushed them successfully up to about 2470FPS.
These flat nosed FMJs are Hornady and according to Wildcatter, have a thick enough jacket to be pushed through the Thumper with no problems. And Wildcatter has pushed them faster than I will ever dare to.

Thats what I was thinking, if the jacket is thick enough, you might need a few more milk jugs. I hope you'll do a test for us. :D True story... we go up to the range, and there was a group shooting their deer rifles at targets taped onto a 16-18" diameter cut off stump not noticing any movement of the stump, We begin shooting the FTX factory loads into the stump after they are done, and the stump rocks back about 30 degrees with each impact. Gunny pulls out his magtech loads, which immediately cause the stump to fall over backwards! The hunters were pretty impressed, as was I.

Yeah it's a powerhouse. Here are my test results so far on the MagTech.

What should be the COL on these 230 grain FPs by Hornady, Tim?
