Dear brother Bushmaster reloaders:______________
Finally got my upper together (....16 inch, midlength Balistic Advantage barrel flattop...), got the brass, dies and powder together and am ready to start loading. Have been reading the forum and i noticed that Hoot has used a load of 35 grains of alliant 2400 for the 225 grainers. I intend to try this load (...i like the medium fast powder idea, and dont have any Litl Gun...). I do have several pounds of H110. Have any of you all worked up any loads that look promising using H110 and the 225 ftx? My thoughts are that the load should be with magnum primers and at least 42 grains of H110. I think the H110 may be a bit slow for this lighter bullet; but i would still like to work out a load with it if i can. What are your collective thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
Leroy

Checking my notes all but one of my 225 FTX loads use Lil'gun

Here is the one load I worked up with Hornady brass that I used the 225 FTX charged with W296

225 FTX
38grs W296
Rem bench rest primmer
2.150OAL
No side crimp
No signs of high pressure
Little to no sooting
Great load

Read the others notes on substituting H110 for W296
I would start off with 5 at 37.0, 5 at 37.5, 5 at 38.0, and 5 at 38.5. I personally have not exceeded 38grs for this bullet weight and would recommend watching you brass for signs of trouble.

My 225 FTX load of choice for accuracy and performance in general is the same as Jeff's except I use 38gr Lil Gun. Jagged hole @ 100 yds accurate and plenty of oomph. This in all likelihood will be my goto round for the upcoming whitetail season. Save the 2400 for the 200 gr FTX, otherwise use a cooler primer like the BR4. 2400 turns on much easier than Lil Gun with light bullets.
