Annealing Straight Walled Cases

Postby TacoTaco » Sun Jul 15, 2012 7:58 pm

All,

If you've read my post on 230 FMJ's and Cannelures, you might be aware of an Annealing issue I have. I'm fairly familiar with annealing shouldered cases, but not straight walled. On shouldered cases you heat from the mouth to just below the shoulder. Where should I anneal on a straight walled case? I don't want to go too low and make the lower portion of the brass too soft....

Also, is a propane torch sufficient or should I get a MAPP bottle?
