I loaded to 2.004 oal. I use a standard 450 magazine. The blunt end would not feed up into the chamber.
Any sugguestions ?

That's gotta be a Mag Lips issue. I guess mine has just the right angles so that it doesn't jump out too early or too late while at a awkward angle. Was the bullet hitting at the top of the chamber or the bottom? It also might be too much or too little spring tension.... And that's where I would start first.

It was hitting the bottom.

Here is a target I used on sunday.
The upper right is the 40 gr. deep curl loads.
The upper left is Hornady FTX 250 GR.
Lower right is a mix.
The range is 80 yards. Wind 10mph to 15mph right to left.
Thank you for your reply. Mark.

That's a pretty decent group. But let me get some of the other guys' input on the mag issue. I may be all wet here, but it may be a couple of things. Spring pressure, or mag lips a bit too tight on the forward side of the mag. But there may be another reason that I'm overlooking.

Load up a mag with the DCs or at least a DC in the top position. Take a picture of it from the side (not blurry). Usually, you can pull back the bolt, ease it forward while watching how the cartridge behaves when being picked up and get an idea where the problem manifests. If you can get a picture of the cartridge hung up also, those two images are worth a thousand words.

I have a stronger spring and hoot's lead weight in the bolt carrier. The lips of the mag will need to opened a little'
is my guess. I will take a photo a post that. But will need to load some rounds first. :D
Again thanks for the replies.

Update on my last report of the 250 gr. Deepcurl Loads.
I reloaded about 40 cartridges, but with two that I modified.
I made up two with High Density foam tips.

I checked them out on the scale before loading them.

I then went to the range and set the target at 100 yrds. And tried them out.

I shot the other loads as well with great results. :D

And I fixed my magazine feeding problem as well. :D

Good job ol' boy! Nice work there. I know the bullets that I sent to TSD and the ones I shot would probably open to quickly for deer or elk but that's why I started work with the 300 grain version of this bullet and the 275 Barnes xpb bullets. It does look like ya got something going there though! Do you plan on hunting with this bullet or using it as a home defense round or just an alternative range round? Keep up the good work and stay safe!

I don't have any plans for the modification. Like I was going to use them for hunting or home defense.
The idea came more from the problem of feeding from the magazine more then anything.
But since I opened the lips of the magazine a small amount that fixed the feeding problem.
I would like to hunt wild hog with these bullets . That would be interesting.
