This IS NOT GOOD, my friends.
Read the whole story and see the copy of a letter from Hornady here:
http://www.65grendel.com/forum/showthre ... s-and-ammo
This will definitely affect the remaining Range times that I have planned for later this year.
I did make one video this past Sunday, (7/7/13). It involved just checking Zero on my rifles and zeroing in my NV scope and holographic sight on my AR. I also had a little fun with my new shotgun.
But with this recent bad news, I'm afraid most of my planned videos will have to be shelved for a while.

45 cal .452 250 gr FTX is on the list for production at this link - http://www.hornady.com/assets/files/support/Updated-2013-Hornady-Commercial-Ammo-Bullet-Production-List.pdf. There are several other .452 cal bullets in various weights on the list as well.

And this too will pass,

Don't panic, this is an outgrowth of DHS buying everything they can to keep the majors from building anything else. This is Obamination Backdoor gun control, at it's best.

I didn't see any of our stuff on the list, except the lighter .451's.

Remmy has started the Que back up and are producing 450's on an unprecedented level.

You've noticed that a new run of ammo has hit the shelves.

In this, Created Economy, these things are going to happen, but as the economy takes off, all will be made whole, until the next crash.

Speaking of next crash, if we don't roll the congress in Nov14, you CAN expect much WORSE, a whole lot WORSE!!

I prefer Berry's anyways for both of my .45 monsters and never seem to have a problem finding those.

Yes but...
Jacketed > Plated (especially at higher speeds)
I think Berry's website even states that their plated bullets should not exceed 1400fps, but that could have been a warning on Rainer's website.

The FMJ-FP will be missed.... I'm down to a handful and have 4 boxes of new unprimed brass with no plinking stuff to load up.

Hornady also listed a bunch of ammo to be temporarily discontinued... amazingly, the Hornady .450Bushmaster factory load is not included!!! :D

*****Correction******* Barnes not Berry's******(Berry's was used in my 9mm reloads that I was doing while typing that.) I've used barnes XPB from 200-275gr in both my 450bm and 460 and have had no issues out of either with firing, ejecting, or accuracy. loaded with cci sr & 7 1/2s in the 450bm, and cci lp & cci mlr in the 460 both with 40gr of lil gun.

I want you guys to know that attempting to shoot Berrys or Rainiers through your 450 Bushmaster is a very risky activity, especially at the speeds that Gunny, Hoot, several others and myself included, shoot the other 230 Grain FMJs with the heavier copper jacket. (2200-2500+ Feet Per Second).
I heartily discourage the practice.

That was my mistake. I've only used Berry's for my 9mm reloads which I was actually in the process of doing at the time of typing that message. It should've read Barnes instead.

I've been sitting here surfing the net for .450 ammo all morning and have found absolutly nothing. Strange!
