Reloading Nickel plated cases

Postby longnkrnch » Sun Nov 17, 2013 2:00 pm

I've been wanting to try some of the Hog Hammer ammo in my thumper, but am hesitant, not knowing if the nickel played cases that Remington is using would be ok for reloading.( I hate buying any ammo that doesn't leave me with reloadabels).
Anyone tried reloading any of the nickel plated stuff in the .450

I haven't tried the nickel 450 yet, but I've loaded nickel pistol brass as I find it. I've never had a problem with the pistol kind.

Reloading of nickel-plated cases has a mythology that is deep, wide, and old. A web search on the phrase "reloading nickel plated brass" could provide hours of entertainment.

In my use of nickeled rifle brass, the only negative aspect I've discovered is that bottleneck cases look odd after they have been outside neck turned.
