I ordered .452 250g ftx and what I got was .458 250g monoflex. Can these be used or am I going to have to return them? Thanks,Ken

you can size them, many of the fella's that reload do this. It gives them more projectiles to choose from. There are threads in the reloading forum on this subject.

Sizing .458 down to .452 is additional work and additional equipment. If they're .458, I'd return them for the correct bullet. If you want to go for a slightly more accurate bullet that is only 10% lighter, then the 225gr FTX is a great choice. You get twice as many bullets (100) for around the same price. Google Hornady 45218 and see A) who has them in stock, for B) the lowest shipped price. Otherwise Google Hornady 45201 for the best price on the correct 250gr ones. Manventureoutpost has the 250s for $23.99 shipped but their 225s are currently out of stock. I usually get bullets from them. If time is on your side, wait for Midway to have their blemish sale.

And don't forget that Midway periodically sells "blem" bullets - the .452 250 and 225 gr as well as other weights - at reduced prices compared to new bullets. I have ordered these from them several times and have found some variations in cannelure, the color of the plastic tip, and maybe some surface discolorations. I have had no problems reloading and shooting them. You can search Midways website for "blems" or get on their email list.
