Rifle twist discussion thread

Postby Texas Sheepdawg » Mon Sep 14, 2015 10:57 pm

Hey guys, I'm looking for previous posts and discussions on anyone's experiences using rifle twists other than the standard 1:24 Twist with this cartridge. Since I haven't actually done this R&D, I'm looking to those of you who have. Hoot, you're posts are on the top of my list cuz I know you played with a 1:16 Twist a while back. But if Anyone has posted their experiences here, if you could find the link and paste it here in this thread as a quick way to give us a fast reference to the information, I would really appreciate it. So if Anyone finds a post discussing twist rates, please give me a hand here. I've been searching for an hour and I can't seem to find anything.
Thanx again!

I have only used 12-14" 16 twist Vulcan Barrels so far.

I have been very happy with their results so far.

I'm patiently waiting for some 16 twist Pacnor barrels at the moment as I have been waiting for nearly a year for more Vulcan ones.

Come to think of it, its been over four months since I ordered the Pacnor ones :?

Do you have any contact info for Vulcan Barrels?

Called Tromix.com and was told that 1:32 twist was more popular in the 450b barrels. :D :P

Warning. Just remember that ALL of my R&D and any others done before these new twists came into play, the loading data is for 1:24 Twist AR barrels. If you try to use my data on any other twist, you're not going to get the same results at all.
Be careful. We are not responsible if you blow yourselves up.

If you guys could have a single shot break over 450 Bushmaster what barrel length and twist rate do you think would serve as the most versatile choice?
