Okay guys. I've loaded up a box of donated Barnes bullets using donated bottle of 1680 powder. They look pretty mean. I haven't chronographed them yet. However, my uncle paid me a visit at my range to sight in one of his rifles, so before he left, I took the single shot out there and let him shoot it a few times. He loved it. Anyway, I took just one of these 275 Grain beasts with me just to see how it shot at 50 Yards. The recoil was not too bad and the bullet actually hit a bit higher than I thought it would. But it really put the whomp down on that railroad tie. I didn't Chrono it so I have no idea the velocity yet. But here's a few pics of the loads. They were taper crimped to .475", then LSC crimped to .474" and then re taper crimped again to .475"

Couple questions, what is your coal, and what made you choose 1680? Just curious.
